He is on cloud nine since he is going to New York for the first time in his life.

イディオム on cloud nine（9つの階層に分けられた雲のてっぺんにいる→）「うきうきして、有頂天で、舞い上がって」

受け取る

「きみはわたしの言ったことをまちがって受け取ったようだ」
You seem to have got me wrong.

イディオム get somebody wrong「（人）のこと（意図・言ったことなど）を誤解する、勘違いする」

動かす

「彼は友人の死の知らせを聞いても眉一つ動かさなかった」
He didn't bat an eye at the news of his friend's death.

イディオム not bat an eye(eyelash, eyelid)「まゆひとつ動かさない、まばたきひとつしない、全く動じない」

動き

「彼は借金で動きがとれない」
He is up to his ears in debt.

イディオム be up to one's ears in something「（仕事・借金・トラブルなど）で身動きがとれない、首が回らない、にっちもさっちもいかない」
