政府・議会の名前
the 〜
the House of Commons, the House of Lords, the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Health and Human Societyなど
* 一国の議会を総称する名前（Parliament, Congress）は無冠詞ですが、英米以外の国の議会はthe Diet（日本の国会）のようにtheをつけます。
* 政府などを比喩的に指す地名は無冠詞です。
Whitehall（イギリス政府），Downing Street（イギリス首相官邸），White House / Washington（アメリカ政府）
ただし、この場合も英米以外の名前はtheがつきます。
the Blue House（韓国大統領官邸），the Kremlin（ロシア政府）

the Democratic Party, the Liberal-Democratic Party (the LDP), the Republican Partyなど
会社名
無冠詞
Du Pont, Eastman Kodak, General Motors, Japan Air Lines, Shell Oil, U.S. Steelなど
* General Electricは無冠詞ですが、the General Electric Companyというとtheがつくように、companyのような語を含む場合にはtheがつきます。
