公園の名前

無冠詞

Central Park, Hibiya Park, Hyde Parkなど

* 森林公園もEpping Forestのように無冠詞です。

国立公園の名前

無冠詞

Grand Canyon National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Yosemite National Parkなど

例外 the Everglades National Park

*「グランドキャニオン」の名称が国立公園として用いられる場合は無冠詞ですが、渓谷を表す場合にはtheをつけてthe Grand Canyonといいます。

砂漠の名前

the 〜

the Gobi (Desert), the Sahara (Desert)など

島の名前

無冠詞

Bermuda, Easter Island, Shikoku (Island), Sicilyなど

*「Isle of 〜」という形の場合はtheがつきます。

the Isle of Capri, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wightなど

山脈の名前

the 〜

the Alps, the Andes (Mountains), the Appalachian Mountains / the Appalachians, the Himalaya Mountains / the Himarayas, the Japan Alps, the Rocky Mountains / the Rockies)など

* 山脈の名前はふつう「the＋複数形」ですが「the＋単数形」という形もあります。

the Caucasus (the Caucasus Mountains), the Sierra Nevadaなど

植物園

the Kew Gardens (the Royal Botanic Gardens), the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Montreal Botanical Gardenなど

* 樹木園は無冠詞が多いようです。
